The Champion’s Journal

Do you have a champion’s Journal?

What is a Champion’s Journal you ask.

It is a process you should follow if you are aspiring to be a champion of the game you play.

It is an idea I read in Jim Afremow’s book titled “The Champion’s Mind” and essentially is about evaluating yourself by making the right questions after every game.

Jim Afremow says:
“How can you objectively evaluate your progress and build on your success?
As a mechanism for sparking creativity and generating new ideas for improving your performance, debrief your game play on a regular basis.
Evaluate the mental, technical, and tactical aspects.

Specifically, ask yourself three questions:
Question # 1: What did I do that was good?
Question # 2: What needs to get better?
Question # 3: What changes should I make to become my best?

This process will allow you to think broadly about each area of your game and then drill down to the details.
Make this your Champion Journal.”

So we have three pillars to focus on after a game: Good – Better – Best.

Again… Good – Better – Best.

This is how champions improve: By focusing on the right questions.

Remember… Focus on where you want to arrive or you will arrive where you focus on.

So repeat after me: Good -Better – Best.

This is where you should focus on.

Take care!

All my best,
